ADVOCACY

The YMCA is committed to strengthening communities—not only through programs and services, but also by advocating for policies that support the health, safety, and well-being of all people. In partnership with state leaders and local YMCAs, we engage in thoughtful, nonpartisan advocacy to ensure communities have access to high-quality child care, safe youth programs, mental well-being resources, and opportunities for all to thrive.

Through education, relationship-building, and collective voice, the YMCA works with policymakers to elevate the needs of families, children, and communities across the state. Advocacy helps ensure that laws, funding, and regulations align with the YMCA’s mission—so Ys can continue to meet local needs today and into the future.
